With the bicycle to the Tollensteinern

This route takes you south up to the Czech Republic. You cycle up and down through a wonderful recreational area. A detour to the Prinz-Friedrich-August-Baude (mountain hut) with its viewing tower will reward you with a very pretty view over the Zittauer Mountains. On the German as well as on the Czech side villages with their numerous 'Umgebinde' Houses (special house type) over charming sights.
The hiking and cycling paths in the Czech part of the tour are very well sign-posted and more or less easy to cycle.

In Schluckenau the church and the market place are especially well worth seeing. In Rosenhain just before the border is a small market, which is ideal for shopping.
Your way back takes you in Sohland past the "Himmelsbrücke" (heaven's bridge) from the year 1796.
Well worth seeing in Schirgiswalde are especially the houses at the market with their pergolas and the catholic church in Bohemian country baroque.
