At the western outskirts of Kamenz rises the Hutberg with the Kamenz city park.
The park is 8 minutes away from the railway station. With the two car parks at the foothills is the city park in easy reach for everybody.
The Hutberg fields were still tilled into the 19th century.
The grounds of Wilhelm Weiße, royal plant supplier to the Saxon court, were from 1873 to 1913 continuously enlarged and replanted. He received later the honorary citizenship of Kamenz for his creative performances. A road was built parallel to the Lindenallee in the year 1933, which was used for the development of the three years later constructed open-air stage at the east slope of Hutberg.
