On the 25th of September 2007 the Dr.-Gregorius-Mättig-Foundation in Bautzen was newly founded. And offers now the chance to secure independent and effectively the promotion of youth, education and culture in the Oberlausitz.
“Business Location Oberlausitz” shouldn't just be an expression but implemented. The Bautzen bakers' guild wants to contribute their part: The guild wants to show with the “Bautz’ner Mättig-Bread” that local craft can achieve something and support this way the Mättig-Foundation in their goals.
To buy 'at the master baker around the corner' does the local economy good – part of the Mättig-Bread sales goes towards the foundation. Everybody can help with buying at the local small enterprise.
city-map Bautzen is convinced that “Brot zur Stiftung” ('Bread for Donation') will become a constant in town and environ and we are happy support the initiators Lutz Neumann, head of Bautzen bakers' guild, and the master baker Stefan Richter from Kubschütz in marketing the Mättigbrot in the Internet and wish you lots of success at the introduction in the year 2009.
